NOA Congratulates Yobe at 35, Urges Citizens to Appreciate Development

The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Yobe Directorate, has congratulated the government and people of the state on the 35th anniversary of its creation.

The State Director of NOA, Hajiya Zuwaira Mohammed Ali, made the call while addressing newsmen at the agency’s headquarters in Damaturu on Thursday.

Ali urged Yobeans to appreciate the development recorded in the state since its creation in 1991, noting that significant progress had been made in various sectors.

She highlighted developments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, security and youth participation in governance.

According to her, the state has witnessed the construction and rehabilitation of roads, development of modern markets and transformation in the education sector.

She also noted the expansion of healthcare services through the establishment and upgrading of more than 140 Primary Healthcare Centres, as well as the establishment of the Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency.

The director said the state had also invested in agriculture and agro-allied processing, including sesame cleaning and packaging plants, distribution of agricultural inputs and tractors to farmers.

She further highlighted efforts in peacebuilding, security recovery and the inclusion of youths in governance as part of the milestones recorded by the state.

Ali urged citizens to remain patriotic, peaceful and committed to the continued development of Yobe.

She called on Yobeans to collectively protect the achievements recorded over the past 35 years and contribute to the growth and development of the state.

Yobe State was created on Aug. 27, 1991, following the then military administration’s creation of additional states in the country.
