Jigawa CP presents N25.9m to families of deceased officers

Dutse – The Commissioner of Police, in Jigawa, CP Tijjani Murtala, psc, mnips, has, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, presented cheques to 25 families/next of kins of deceased police officers who answered the supreme call while in active service.
The event, held at the Police Command Headquarters, Dutse, was witnessed by members of the command’s Management Team and other senior officers.
A total of 25 cheques, representing benefits under the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Scheme, were presented to the beneficiaries.
The cheques amounted to a cumulative sum of 25,960,848.75k only.
In his goodwill message to the beneficiaries, CP Murtala, on behalf of the IGP, conveyed the sympathy, solidarity and support of the Nigeria Police Force leadership to the families, while acknowledging the invaluable sacrifices made by the deceased officers in the course of their service to the nation.
The CP said the gesture was a demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, particularly those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
He assured the beneficiaries that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to supporting the families of deceased personnel within the limits of available welfare schemes and mechanisms.
In his vote of thanks, Yusuf Muhammad Tsoho, who spoke on behalf of on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended the IGP and the CP for the gesture.
Tsoho, who described the gesture as a significant demonstration of institutional responsibility and concern for the welfare of the families left behind by the deceased officers, prayed for continued success, protection and guidance for the leadership and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
The ceremony ended with special prayers for the peaceful repose of the souls of the fallen officers and continued strength and support for their families, while CP Murtala reaffirmed the commitment of service to prioritizing the welfare of its personnel and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, dedication and service to the people of the tate and Nigeria in general.
