Police Disburses N40.7m to Families of Fallen Officers in Borno

The Borno State Police Command has disbursed N40.7 million to families of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty under the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Group Life Insurance Scheme.
The Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, psc, presented the cheques to the beneficiaries on Friday, September 18, 2026.
The beneficiaries comprised next-of-kin and family members of deceased police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation.
Speaking during the cheque presentation ceremony, the Commissioner, while delivering the IGP’s message, reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families.
He said the Group Life Insurance Scheme reflected the compassion, accountability and leadership of the Inspector-General of Police in honouring officers who died while maintaining peace and security.
Abdulmajid urged the beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously to support the education, healthcare and general well-being of their families.
He also appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for sustaining the Group Life Insurance Scheme, describing it as an important initiative for providing financial relief and stability to families of fallen officers.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Jones Sampako Madah expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for the gesture.
Madah assured that the beneficiaries would make prudent and judicious use of the funds to improve the welfare of their families.
