The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has attributed the current load shedding across its network to limited power supply from the national grid and transmission line constraints.

The company disclosed this in a notice to customers on Tuesday, saying it was receiving less electricity than usual from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the National Control Centre.

It said power was currently being supplied through only the Kaduna-Mando transmission line, as two circuits, 2APR-LFA1 and 2APR-LFA2, were unavailable.

According to the company, the development has reduced the power available for distribution to 75 megawatts, resulting in fewer hours of electricity supply to customers.

YEDC said the available electricity was being shared among all areas within its franchise to ensure equitable distribution.

The company apologised to customers for the inconvenience and appealed for patience while it worked with relevant authorities to resolve the challenges and improve power supply.

It expressed appreciation to customers for their understanding and cooperation.
