Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, on Friday in Potiskum, said his administration would improve the welfare and security of all National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state.
Governor Buni, represented by Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, Senior Special Assistant on Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation, said this at the swearing in of 1,300 2023 batch ‘B’ stream 1 Corps members.
“I will like to reiterate the commitment of the Yobe government to accord the highest priority to the welfare and the security of the core members in every part of the States.
“I have directed all security agencies and community leaders to ensure that a conducive atmosphere is created for all corps members to thrive,” he said.
He urged them to take the orientation programme seriously and participate fully in all the camp activities.
“It will provide you with the opportunities and necessary exposure required to adjust your life and build your self-confidence.
“I equally enjoin you to be steadfast in your personal and group efforts toward realisation of the noble objectives of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme,” Buni added.
In her remarks, Mrs Hafsat Yerima, the State Coordinator of the NYSC, congratulated the corps members for successful completion of their studies from various institutions of learning.
She also enjoined them to obey all camp rules and regulations, respect officials and stay away from all vices.
