7,000 households get phase 6th palliative distribution in Yobe

No fewer than 7,000 households have received 20kg of food basket each in the ongoing palliative distribution in Yobe.

Dr Mohammed Goje, the Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said this on Tuesday in Bade distribution centre.

He said each of the 7,000 household beneficiaries were given 20kg food basket.

He said the beneficiaries include teachers, civil servants, students, widows, orphans and the elderly across ten wards of Bade Local Government area.

Goje assured all those who were yet to benefit, to exercise patients, saying the support would be conducted in all the 17 LGAs of the state.

In his remarks, the Secretary Palliative Committee in Yobe, Alhaji Shayibu Amshi said the gesture aimed at ameliorating the suffering of the people occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy.

Amshi urged the beneficiaries against diverting the food items given to them.

Malam Sani Bukar, one of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe and SEMA for the support.

He prayed to Allah to support and grant him the will to do more.
