Yobe State Govt Launches Fresh Research to Address Kidney Disease

The Yobe State Government has launched a new research project to investigate the root causes of kidney disease and related ailments in Bade Emirate.
Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Mohammed Gana, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Bade, Alhaji Umar Suleiman, on Monday.
The research aims to address the high prevalence of chronic kidney disease in the emirate, which has been a long-standing issue. Dr. Gana noted that previous efforts to investigate the root cause and magnitude of the problem had been unsuccessful.
The research team, led by Prof. Mahmud Maina, Director of the Biomedical Research Training Center (BioRTC), includes international experts from Germany, the UK, Spain, Berlin, Senegal, and Ghana.
Prof. Maimuna Waziri, Vice Chancellor of Federal University Gashua, expressed her university’s readiness to collaborate with the research team to address the menace.
The Emir of Bade, Alhaji Umar Abubakar Suleiman, thanked the Governor and the research team for their concern and support, assuring the emirate’s commitment and support for the research.
The research project aims to identify the root causes of kidney disease and find lasting solutions to the problem, which has affected many families in the emirate.
