Yobe NLC Embraces Spiritual Approach Amidst Police Invitation
The Yobe State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Mukhtar Tarbutu, has appealed to members and affiliates to pray for the National President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, who was recently invited by the Nigerian Police Force.
Tarbutu made the call on Thursday in Damaturu while addressing a gathering of NLC members and affiliates in the state.
He said the union had received a directive from the national headquarters to mobilize members to police headquarters in their respective states in solidarity with Ajaero, but the Yobe State chapter opted for a spiritual approach by organizing prayers for his safe return.
Tarbutu expressed confidence that Allah would intervene and ensure the safety of the NLC president.
The chairman also announced the formation of a technical committee to review the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage in the state, which has submitted its recommendations to the state government.
He commended the committee for its efforts and expressed hope that the government would soon engage with the union on the issue.
