NOA begins sensitisation on National Anthem, values charter in Yobe

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has inaugurated a campaign on the re-adopted National Anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee,” and the National Value Charter in Yobe.

Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the Director-General of NOA said the initiative was a critical part of the National Identity Project aimed at fostering unity, pride, and a shared sense of purpose among all Nigerians.

Issa-Onilu, represented by Mr Nura Kobi, Director, Planning, Research and Strategy said the campaign would highlight the standardised version of the National Anthem.

He added that it would also emphasise its role as a symbol of national identity and shared aspirations.

He added that the correct lyrics, approved by the President was aimed at inspiring patriotism and a renewed sense of national unity.

He also explained that the National Value Charter, with its “7-for-7 Initiative,” outlined reciprocal obligations between Nigeria and its citizens, establishi a framework for national responsibility, patriotism, and development.

He said the agency would utilise various platforms, especially technology-driven ones.

He listed these to include social media, the Mobiliser App, and the CHLEEAN AI tool on their website (www.noa.gov.ng), to engage the youth and spread messages about national values.

“Real-time feedback mechanisms will be implemented to assess the campaign’s impact and facilitate public participation,” he said.

MrbAli Audu, Yobe State Director of NOA, outlined various planned activities to ensure that the campaign was success in the state.

He said some of the activities included news conferences, town hall meetings, and roadshows across Yobe to raise awareness and directly engage with citizens.

He called on all Nigerians to embrace the campaign and work together to build a united, peaceful, and prosperous nation.
