
SAZU, VC emphasises importance of staff development at 3-Day seminar

Professor Fatimah Tahir, Vice Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), has highlighted the significance of a 3-day seminar organized by the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance.
The seminar, which brought together 75 academic staff members from various departments, aimed to equip them with essential skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Speaking at the event, in Gadau Professor Tahir emphasized the importance of the seminar, particularly for new staff members, stating that it serves as an orientation for their growth and development.
She commended the Directorate of Academic Planning for initiating the seminar and urged participants to make the best use of the knowledge gained.
The seminar is part of SAZU’s commitment to enhancing the professional development of its academic staff and promoting academic excellence.
The university has announced plans to hold a similar seminar at the Yuli Campus on February 17, 2025, with an additional 75 participants, bringing the total number of participants to 150.
Earlier ,Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Aliyu, Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance,said the seminar covered a range of topics, including effective research grant writing, leveraging digital tools for teaching, reflective practice, and introduction to Research and Open Science for life science.
The seminar has been hailed as a success, with participants expressing their gratitude to the university for providing them with the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge.
