
Bauchi academy partners US- institute to enhance industry training

The Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy (BOGAA) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PetroEd, a US-based online institute specializing in oilfield training, certifications, and educational solutions.
Dr Ahmad Yaro, Rector of the Academy stated this in an interview with our Correspondent on Friday in Bauchi
He said the partnership aims to provide 50 individuals with training in key industry courses, such as RigPass and Basic Principles of Petroleum among others.
According to him, the academy, in partnership with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), also offers four Professional Core Oil and Gas courses,
“Including Minimum Industry Safety, Certificate in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), and Advanced Certificate in HSE,” he said
The Rector reiterated that the academy’s primary objective is to equip youth with practical skills and knowledge that can be applied in the workforce or in entrepreneurship.
“The academy offers various programs, including certificate courses, National Innovative Diploma (NID) in nine programmes and professional courses.

Others are Mechanics, Welding and Fabrication, Buildings Construction and Hardware Engineering, all approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE),” he said.
Dr Yaro said over 500 graduates from last year’s cohort will soon receive their professional certifications from recognized bodies like the Automotive Council of Nigeria and the National Institute of Builders.
Additionally, over 300 students are currently applying for various mid-level programs, including Automotive Mechatronics, Building Construction, and Solar Technology.
Dr. Yaro encouraged residents of the state to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the academy,
He emphasised that a permanent site equipped with state-of-the-art facilities is currently under construction in Alkaleri to provide a conducive learning environment for students.
He however appreciated Gov. Bala Mohammed for providing human and material resources at the Academy for the effective smooth running of education activities.
