The Jurist Chamber of the Faculty of Law at Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Bauchi State, has initiated a strategic collaboration with sister legal institutions to enhance the scope of legal education and judicial discourse.

This initiative was unveiled by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Saleh Muhammad Galadima Kanam, during a public lecture held in honor of Justice Eleojo Enanche JCA.
The event celebrated Justice Enanche’s distinguished contributions to the advancement of justice in Nigeria.

Delivering a keynote paper titled “Delay in Disposing Cases by the Supreme Court and Its Implications for Access to Justice in Nigeria:

A Call for Reform,” Professor Kanam shed light on critical issues facing the judiciary, including case backlog, the limited number of justices, and procedural inefficiencies. To tackle these challenges,

He advocated for the decentralization of the Supreme Court into Zonal Judicial Divisions, arguing that such a reform would enhance access to justice and expedite case resolution.

Justice Enanche, in his own presentation, “Delay in Disposing Cases by the Appellate Courts in Nigeria from the Perspectives of Access to Justice: Unbundling the Supreme Court as a Panacea—Issues and Prospects,” echoed similar sentiments.

He emphasized the urgency of judicial reforms and commended SAZU’s Faculty of Law for fostering dialogue on these pressing concerns.

The event attracted distinguished legal personalities, including the JSC Secretary and the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Dr. Ibrahim Danjuma.

Their presence underscored the significance of the discussions and the need for collective efforts in addressing judicial challenges.
