Kucici Emerges NYCSOs Executive Director, Pledges Stronger Partnerships, Visibility
By Ahmed Isah
Mr Mohammed Kucici has emerged as the new Executive Director of the Network of Yobe Civil Society Organizations (NYCSOs), following a peaceful and well-organised election held on Wednesday in Damaturu.
Kucici was declared winner alongside other newly elected executive members after the electoral exercise, which was described by observers as credible, transparent, and conducted in a spirit of sportsmanship.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Kucici said he would prioritise increased visibility for member organisations and deepen collaboration with government institutions and development partners.
“Going forward, I intend to increase the visibility of member organisations under the network and strengthen partnerships with all levels of government—federal, state, and local—as well as with other partners,” he said.
He noted that NYCSOs would also reach out to civil society organisations not yet in partnership with the network in a bid to foster unity and improve coordinated action across the state.
“For those not yet in partnership with us, we will extend hands of friendship and ensure we build bridges. Working together is better than working in silos,” he added.
Other elected officials include Mr Ali Gambo Tarbutu as Deputy Executive Director (Programmes), Mrs Kudirat Kashim as Deputy Executive Director (Administration), Mr Musa Garba as Head of General Administration, and Mr Musa Mohammed as Head of Finance and Operations, among others.
The Network of Yobe Civil Society Organizations serves as an umbrella body for various non-governmental and community-based organisations operating across the state. It focuses on promoting civic engagement, governance accountability, and sustainable development.
