Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi Local Government Area have vowed to wrestle power from the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, declaring their determination to return APC to Government House in 2027.
The resolution was made at the weekend during a rally in Bauchi where party supporters endorsed Sen. Shehu Buba represents Bauchi South Senatorial District, as their preferred governorship candidate.
Speaking at the gathering, Alhaji Mohammed Danmaliki, the chairman of the organizing forum, said the time has come for the APC to unite and reclaim power from the PDP.
He highlighted the senator’s record of achievements across his constituency covering Alkaleri, Bauchi, Bogoro, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Kirfi, and Toro LGAs
“Which include water projects, youth employment, fertilizer distribution, scholarships, road construction, and support for health and education,” he said.
According to him, Buba’s interventions demonstrate the leadership qualities needed to reposition Bauchi State.
Mr Sabo Mohammed of the planning sub-committee stressed that Sen. Buba’s goodwill has spread across all 20 LGAs, saying the APC will leverage his popularity to mobilize voters and defeat the PDP.
Hussaini Wunti, another stakeholder, accused the ruling PDP government of neglecting the state, particularly in supporting small business owners. He argued that the APC, under Buba’s leadership, would restore hope and development.
On his part, Jibrin Jibrin also called on citizens to support the senator, describing him as a visionary leader who can lead the state out of what he termed “years of stagnation.
Representatives of Zungur, Galambi, and Miri districts equally pledged total loyalty to the endorsement, promising to deliver overwhelming grassroots support.
The stakeholders resolved that their united backing of Sen. Buba signals the beginning of a statewide move to unseat the PDP and reclaim Bauchi for the APC in the next election.
