The Gombe Unity and Development Mandate Forum (GUDMF) has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reappointing Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa as Managing Director of the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC).
Speaking at a press conference in Bauchi, the Secretary of the forum, Engr. Aliyu Musa Aliyu, congratulated Yelwa, describing his reappointment as a well-deserved recognition of his dedication and visionary leadership.
According to Aliyu, Yelwa’s first tenure was marked by notable achievements in infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and sustainable initiatives that improved the lives of residents across HYPPADEC states.
He added that under Yelwa’s renewed leadership, the commission is expected to attain greater milestones in line with its mandate.
“We in Gombe, Nassarawa, and Taraba were included in HYPPADEC due to his zeal and determination to drive development forward.
“Already, communities around the Dadin Kowa Dam in Gombe State have begun benefiting from HYPPADEC programmes, which are improving their living conditions,” Aliyu noted.
The forum expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and his cabinet for recognizing Yelwa’s capabilities, stressing that the decision reflects the administration’s commitment to national progress.
The group also called on the Senate to expedite Yelwa’s screening to enable him to continue his service, while commending governors and stakeholders of HYPPADEC states for supporting the reappointment.
