The Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) has called on the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to strengthen efforts toward implementing the Bauchi State Policy on Safety, Security, and Violence-Free Schools, and to sustain reforms that promote transparency and accountability in the education sector.
This appeal was made during an advocacy visit to the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Duguri, as part of activities marking CSACEFA’s 40th anniversary celebration in Bauchi.
Delivering the coalition’s message, Mr. Nicholas Afeso Oshojah, CSACEFA Chairman, praised the board’s leadership and progress in basic education but emphasized the need for continuous partnership to ensure safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environments across the state.
He said the coalition’s prayers and requests include the full implementation of the safety and security policy for schools, the sustainability of the State Education Accounts (SEA) for effective planning and transparency, and improved coordination among education MDAs to strengthen joint monitoring and accountability.
Also speaking, Mrs. Dinah Daniel, CSACEFA Treasurer, appealed for timely budget releases to enhance teacher development, school safety, and infrastructure improvements.
She reaffirmed the coalition’s readiness to support SUBEB’s education vision through community sensitization and advocacy for out-of-school children, especially girls and children with disabilities.
In his response, Alhaji Abdulhamid Mohammed, Permanent Secretary of SUBEB, who represented the Chairman, appreciated CSACEFA’s consistent advocacy, describing education as a shared responsibility that demands collective action.
He assured that the board remains open to collaboration and constructive engagement, noting that SUBEB is committed to providing quality, safe, and inclusive education for every child in Bauchi State.
“Our doors are open to every valuable suggestion and partnership that will sustain the progress we have made in ensuring access, retention, and quality learning for our children,” he said.
The visit also featured a special presentation of the Education Champion Award to Alhaji Duguri in recognition of his exemplary leadership and dedication to the development of basic education in Bauchi State.
