The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Yobe has begun a sweeping reorganisation marked by the inauguration of two committees and the launch of a new state secretariat.

Former Minister of Police Affairs and state party leader, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, led Monday’s event, describing it as a strategic step to reposition the party ahead of future elections.

Waziri said the Transitional Leadership Committee, chaired by former House of Representatives member Mohammed Kori, would identify new officers and deepen public engagement on the party’s renewed agenda.

He added that the Committee for Registration and Revalidation, headed by Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jawa, would revalidate existing members and register new entrants across the state.

Waziri directed both committees to complete their assignments within 90 days and replicate their structures at the local government, ward and polling unit levels to prepare for congresses.

He said the ADC was targeting a leading opposition role in the 2027 general elections, with an ambition to reclaim governance and offer purposeful leadership to the people of Yobe.

The reorganisation drive was sealed with the commissioning of the party’s newly constructed state secretariat, which will serve as its operational hub.
