Abbari YBC Community Honours 35 Graduates at Walima Ceremony

The Abbari YBC community has honoured 35 graduates at a walima ceremony celebrating their academic achievements and professional advancement.

Chairman of Abbari YBC, Alhaji Umar Geidam, praised the graduates for their resilience and dedication across fields such as Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Sociology, Physics, Biotechnology and others.

He said the community now boasts trained professionals in key disciplines and urged them to use their knowledge to serve humanity. He recalled that Western education was once rejected in their childhood but is now embraced due to its value.

Chairman of the School-Based Management Committee, Alhaji Sulaiman Shuaibu, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to be self-reliant.

He appealed for support to help them secure employment and requested the university to regularise the status of casual staff.

Vice Chancellor of Yobe State University, Professor Bukar Jamre, represented by Professor Umar Yusuf Madaki, advised the graduates to support younger learners by volunteering at primary schools.

He pledged assistance for university admissions and team-building among prospective students.

Parent-Teacher Association Chairman of the SBMC, Dr Abubakar Mustapha, urged the youth to embrace entrepreneurship and avoid idleness.

He stressed that hard work leads to success in this world and the hereafter. He presented certificates of appreciation to all 35 graduates.

Muhammad Nasiru Albani of Yobe State University encouraged the youth to uphold Islamic values through continuous learning and practice.

Also speaking, the representing the Damaturu Youth Leader, Muhammad Hassan Dole urged the graduates to serve their community with honesty.

He commended the state government for supporting Abbari YBC and appealed for potable water, roads and solar electricity. He also requested job opportunities for unemployed graduates.

In his part, the Director of Human Resources at YBC, Alhaji Yarima Saleh Ahmed, commended Islamic teachers for shaping the moral foundation of the community’s youth.

He praised headmasters of Abbari YBC and YSU Community Islamiyya School for providing a strong childhood foundation that helped graduates advance to higher degrees. He assured continued support from the general manager.

Ward head of the community, Malam Bulama Umaru, representing Lawan Shana, thanked the organisers and urged the youth to remain good ambassadors of Abbari YBC.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Abdulazeez Ali Gaji Bularafa appreciated the community’s moral and financial support. He urged his colleagues to remain disciplined, God-fearing and dedicated to serving humanity.

The ceremony concluded with special prayers led by Chairman of Abbari YBC Community Ummah Masjid, Alhaji Modu Gashua, who prayed for divine guidance, protection and success for all graduates.
