APPRECIATION MESSAGE FOLLOWING THE SUCCESSFUL 29th and 30th COMBINED CONVOCATION CEREMONY

The Vice-Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Professor Ibrahim Umar, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, staff and students, extends profound gratitude and appreciation to all distinguished guests, stakeholders and well-wishers who honoured the University with their presence and support during the recently concluded 29th and 30th Combined Convocation Ceremony.

The University particularly acknowledges the Visitor, H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who was ably represented by Prof. Kabir Bala. The University is deeply grateful for this show of support.

Special appreciation is also extended to H.E. the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, C.O.N., for personally attending the ceremony and for his unwavering support to the University. The University is especially grateful for His Excellency’s kind promise to construct a five-kilometre access road, a gesture that will significantly enhance infrastructure and accessibility within the University community.

The University sincerely appreciates the presence and support of the Honourable Commissioner for Education and all members of the Adamawa State Executive Council for their continued commitment to educational development. Appreciation is also extended to the Honourable Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and all Honourable Members present for their solidarity and legislative support towards the advancement of education in the state.

The University further acknowledges the presence of the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, the Chief of Staff, the Head of Service, and other senior government functionaries whose support contributed to the success of the Convocation Ceremony.

Profound appreciation is extended to the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, and members of the Governing Council of the Federal University, Kashere. The University also thanks the Convocation Lecturer, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Kashere, Prof. Umaru A. Pate, for delivering a thought-provoking and balanced lecture titled “Building Trust Amidst Conflict.”

The University also appreciates the Service Commanders and Heads of Security Agencies in Adamawa State for ensuring a peaceful, orderly and secure environment throughout the Convocation activities.

Further appreciation goes to the Ministry of Education for its support and presence, as well as the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mr. Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, and the entire NTA team for the live broadcast of the Convocation Ceremony. The University also acknowledges the presence of the Executive Secretary of TETFund, who was ably represented by Dr. Salihu Bakari Girei.

The University gratefully recognises the presence and support of Members of the National Assembly, Chairmen of Local Government Councils, Heads of Federal and State Government Agencies, Vice-Chancellors and Heads of Tertiary Institutions, particularly the Rector of the University of Ngaoundéré and the representative of the Rector of the University of Garoua, both from the Republic of Cameroon. Appreciation is also extended to the Alumni Association, Development Partners, Religious Leaders, Captains of Industry, the Media, Friends of the University, and members of the general public.

Finally, the Vice-Chancellor expresses deep appreciation to the Convocation Central Working Committee and all Sub-Committees for their dedication, professionalism and tireless efforts that ensured the success of the Convocation Ceremony.
