NUJ seeks partnership with FEDPODAM FM

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe State Council, has called for collaboration with Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Radio Station, FEDPODAM FM, on programme development and capacity building.
The Chairman of the council, Mr Rajab Muhammad Ismail, made the call during a visit to the radio station as part of activities marking the one-year achievements of the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Ibrahim Bello Bashir.
Ismail said the partnership would focus on programme design, production and training to promote knowledge sharing and professional development among media practitioners in the state.
He stressed the importance of producing programmes in local languages to showcase the Polytechnic’s activities and deepen community engagement across Yobe.
The NUJ chairman commended the Rector for what he described as notable infrastructural and institutional development, following a documentary presentation by the Information Unit and a guided tour of facilities.
He also praised the appointment of Mr Muhammad Wakil as Station Manager and Mr Muhammad Nura Nguru as a member of the radio governing board.
Ismail expressed confidence that the appointments would strengthen professionalism and reposition the station for improved service delivery.
The NUJ delegation was received by the Station Manager, Mr Muhammad Wakil, alongside the Head of Engineering, Mr Shuaib Modu Fika, and the Head of Programmes, Mr Sheriffadeen Ibrahim Muhammad.
Other officials present included the Chairman of the Radio Governing Board, Dr Lawan Cheri, board member Muhammad Nura Nguru, Director of Works, Engr. Abba Adam, and Mr Umar H. Godowoli, who represented the Registrar.
