NSE Congratulates New Chairman, Yobe Rural Electrification Commission

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Damaturu Branch, has congratulated Engr. Umarah Mustapha Goniri on his appointment as Chairman and Permanent Member, Yobe State Rural Electrification Commission.

The Chairman of the branch, Engr. Mustapha Abdullahi, conveyed the congratulatory message on Thursday in Damaturu during a courtesy visit by members of the society.

Abdullahi described the appointment as timely and well-deserved, noting that Goniri’s wealth of experience and professional integrity would strengthen rural electrification initiatives in the state.

He said the appointment reflected the state government’s commitment to competence and professionalism in critical infrastructure sectors.

The chairman expressed confidence that Goniri would deploy his expertise to expand access to electricity in rural communities and support socio-economic development.

Members of the branch also extended congratulations to Engr. Mohammed Mustapha, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), on his appointment as a Permanent Member of the commission.

Responding, Goniri thanked the society for the visit and described the gesture as honourable and encouraging.

He also expressed appreciation to Gov. Mai Mala Buni for entrusting him with the responsibility.

Goniri assured that he would justify the confidence reposed in him by working diligently to improve rural power supply across the state.

He pledged to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure sustainable and efficient electrification projects in underserved communities.
