FRSC appoints Godwin Zonal Commander Zone RS3 Yola

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has appointed Assistant Corps Marshal Alphonsus Halim Godwin FISPON as the new Zonal Commanding Officer for Zone RS3 Yola, responsible for supervision of operations and administration of FRSC activities in Adamawa, Gombe, and Taraba states.

SRC Mercy Silas, Zonal Public Education Officer disclosed this in a statement issued in Yola.

He said , the appointment, made by the Corps Marshal, aims to enhance operational and administrative efficiency, strengthen road safety enforcement, and improve service delivery across the region.

“Assistant Corps Marshal Alphonsus H. Godwin FISPON succeeds ACM Yelwa D. Dio fsi, who recently retired from active service.

“Prior to this assignment, ACM AH Godwin served as ACM Special Duties and external relations at the FRSC Headquarters in Abuja, where he demonstrated exemplary leadership, professionalism, and dedication to the Corps’ mission of reducing road traffic crashes and promoting safe driving practices.

His extensive experience positions him well to lead the zone effectively”, he stated.

According to him, the new Zonal commander hails from Billiri LGA of Gombe State, holds a BSc International Studies from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, and Masters in Public Administration from Benue State University Makurdi.

He joined the services of FRSC in 1996 as a young Officer and rose through the Ranks and has held sensitivity positions before now, among which are: Sector Commander Delta, Jigawa, Plateau
and Zonal Commanding Officer Osogbo.

He has a passion for hard work, making friends and sports activities at leisure.
The FRSC remains committed to its core mandate of ensuring safer roads through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and strict enforcement of traffic laws.

The Corps urges the public to cooperate with FRSC personnel, adhere to traffic regulations, and support initiatives aimed at improving road safety.

According to him, the FRSC continues to prioritize safety and operational excellence across its zones, reaffirming its dedication to reducing road traffic incidents and fostering a culture of compliance among road users.
