The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says its ongoing electronic membership registration in Bauchi State has recorded over 150,000 enrollees, placing the state among the top-performing nationwide.
Alhaji Abubakar Kari, Party chieftain and National official, made the disclosure in an interview with Journalists on Wednesday in Bauchi.
He attributed the development to growing public confidence in the party’s programmes and leadership.
Kari said the surge in registration reflected the increasing acceptance of ADC as a viable political platform in the state and across the country.
According to him, the party has also extended the registration deadline to April 14 to enable more Nigerians to participate in the exercise.
The chieftain urged residents of Bauchi State to take advantage of the extension to join the party, assuring that ADC remains committed to people-oriented policies.
He expressed optimism that the party would translate the growing membership base into electoral success in future elections at the local, state and national levels.
The party official also dismissed claims of factionalisation within ADC, describing existing issues as political differences that were being resolved through due process.
He reaffirmed the legitimacy of the party’s national leadership under David Mark, noting that the process leading to its emergence followed established procedures and had been recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Kari added that internal disagreements were not peculiar to ADC, as they occur in most political parties.
The chieftain, however, maintained that the party remained united and focused on strengthening its structures ahead of future elections.
