The Federal College of Education (FCE) Yola, has matriculated 1,402 students into Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE), Programme for 2025/2026 academic season.

Speaking at the ceremony on Thursday on Yola, the Provost of the College, Dr Mohammed Degereji, warned the students against examination misconduct, cultism, and other acts of indiscipline.

Degereji, represented by his Deputy, Aisha Kadiri, said all criminal acts would not be tolerated adding that failure to comply would attract appropriate punishment.

“On our part, it is our responsibility to guide and provide you with quality training and good character to become role models.

“We would like to emphasise the importance of dressing modestly, as the well-known saying “you are addressed the way you dress” holds significant truth,” he said.

The provost said that the college authority had noted that some students have developed the habit of dressing inappropriately, hence the need to continue to address the issue.

“We will no longer tolerate such conduct; and any student who does not comply with our established rules and regulations will face the consequences as specified in the guidelines for students residing on campus.

“We view you as mature individuals who should act responsibly, so I encourage you to reflect on the commitment you have just made to uphold our values,” he said.

Degereji further said that the college have provided and would continue to provide the necessary facilities for a conducive learning environment and students’ well-being.

“The hostels now have running water, the e-library is accessible when you fully register with the Library, and the ICT center is fully functional.

“I urge you to make use of these facilities while we are still working on improving power supply.

“Additionally, the college has one of the best sports complexes, if not the best, in the North-East,” he said.

The provost said that the college was also prioritising security, and urged the students to be vigilant and report any security-related matters to the authorities.

Deborah Gwamnati, who spoke on behalf of the students, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn in the college.

She said it would make them to be responsible leaders of tomorrow.

She promised to abide by all rules and regulations of the college as well as be its good ambassador.
