The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed its strength and preparedness for the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence in its unity, leadership, and growing support base across the country.

Mr Godfrey Manassah Marti, Publicity Secretary of party in Bauchi State stated in an interview with Journalists on Friday in Bauchi

The party chieftain said the PDP has successfully overcome its internal challenges and is now more cohesive and focused on reclaiming national leadership.

He noted that the emergence of a new National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s recent National Convention held on March 29 and 30 marks a significant step toward repositioning the party.

He congratulated Hon. Jungudo Muhammad on his emergence as the National Publicity Secretary, describing him as a competent figure capable of projecting the party’s image positively.

According to him, the new leadership reflects the party’s resolve to strengthen its internal structures and communication.

The chieftain also commended the role of Nyesom Wike in stabilising the party, citing his commitment, patience, and leadership qualities as instrumental in restoring confidence among members.

Focusing on Bauchi State, he described it as a stronghold of the PDP, stating that the party has delivered tangible development since 2019 under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed.

He added that the administration has improved the living standards of the people, thereby strengthening the party’s popularity.

Mr Marti assured party supporters that the PDP in Bauchi and across Nigeria is free from internal litigation and fully prepared to field credible candidates capable of winning elections in 2027.

The chieftain urged party members to remain united and committed, stressing that previous disagreements have been resolved.

He also called on Governor Bala Mohammed to continue engaging in reconciliation efforts within the party.

On speculation surrounding the political future of Nyesom Wike, he noted that while the former governor has the constitutional right to contest any position, no formal declaration has been made.

He dismissed reports of factional disputes and legal challenges as distractions, insisting that the PDP remains a credible alternative capable of providing effective leadership for Nigeria.
