Yobe summit reaffirms youth inclusion, party unity

Stakeholders at the Yobe Leadership and Innovation Summit 2026 have reaffirmed commitment to youth inclusion and political unity to sustain development in the state.
The communiqué of the summit was made available to newsmen by Alhaji Baba Shehu, Co-Convener of the Yobe Leadership and Innovation Summit 2026.
It stated that participants drawn from the 17 Local Government Areas endorsed continued collaboration among youth leaders and political actors.
According to the communiqué, the summit provided a platform to review governance strides and promote inclusive participation of young people in decision-making processes.
It added that participants commended Gov. Mai Mala Buni for policies promoting youth engagement, institutional strengthening and infrastructure development across the state.
The communiqué noted that progress had been recorded in key sectors, including education, healthcare delivery, commerce and post-conflict recovery initiatives.
It further stated that participants resolved to strengthen grassroots mobilisation structures to enhance political participation and improve electoral outcomes.
The communiqué emphasised the need for sustained unity among stakeholders, particularly youth groups, to consolidate governance gains.
It also advocated expansion of youth representation across all tiers of government, including local councils, legislative bodies and executive structures.
The communiqué added that participants resolved to deepen collaboration among youth leaders across the state to promote continuity and support development initiatives.
