Lawmaker sympathises with flood victims in Yobe
A Yobe National Assembly Member representing Bade/Jakusko constituency have expressed sympathy to victims of flood in the state.
Alhaji Zakariyau Galadima registered his sympathy and pledged more support to the victims on Thursday in Gashua, Bade local government area (LGA).
“The flooding affected everywhere in my constituency of Bade and Jakusko (LGA), which which begins from Jigawa state border.
“Despite the little assistance we have rendered to the affected communities in terms of food stuff and polythene bags.
“We feel it is enough. There is also need for me to come in person and sympathize with the victims through the emir of Bade, who is the father of the land.”, he said.
He added that at the national assembly level, he met with other lawmakers from the state and mapped out way to provide more support to the affected communities.
The lawmaker said they had also been in touch with the concern agencies such as Ministry of Agriculture Humanitarian and Disaster Management Federal Ministry of Health for eventualities.
“This is in anticipation that such kind of disasters are likely to be followed by some health challenges.”, he explained.
He commanded Yobe government, individuals and organisations for their enormous assistance to the victims in the state.
