Yobe East bye-election : Group drums for Mustapha

A group, Youth of the Yobe East Senatorial District, have endorsed Alhaji Musa Mustapha as the All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial candidate of the district in the forthcoming by-election.

Mr Muhammed Chiroma, Zonal Co-ordinator of the group, disclosed this at a news conference in Damaturu on Friday.

Our correspondent reports that a vacuum was created in the seat following the emergence of the incumbent Sen. Ibrahim Geidam as a ministerial nominee.

Chiroma said : “ We are hereby calling on all the youths of the seven local government areas of Zone ‘A’ to mobilise and come out en masse to support the aspiration of this project.

“Our heritage is our pride and with Hon. Musa Mustapha we are secured.

“It is therefore, in the light of this development that we want to unequivocally endorse Honorable Musa Mustapha to represent the people of the zone,“ he said.

The co-ordinator said Mustapha, the state immediate past Commissioner of Finance, was the best man for the job in view of his track record of excellence.

” Mustapha’s track record when he held various public offices and political appointments, including finance Commissioner the state endeared us to him.

” We are optimistic that giving the opportunity, he will build on the successes recorded by Sen. Geidam,” he said.

The district comprises of Gulani, Damaturu, Bursari, Geidam Tarmuwa and Yusufari local government councils.
