Buni Leads Delegation to Mass Burial of Slain Mafa Residents in Yobe

The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni on Tuesday led a state government delegation and heads of security agencies to Babbangida, Tarmuwa Local Government Area, for a mass burial of 34 slain Mafa residents.

The governor was represented by his Deputy Alhaji Idi Gubana

The funeral prayer, led by the Chief Imam of Yobe Mosque and Islamic Center, Ustaz Hudu Yusuf, was attended by hundreds of sympathizers at the Palace of Emir of Jajere, Alhaji Mai Buba Mashio, at 12:40 pm.

While condoling the Emir and the people of the community, Buni represented by his Deputy Alhaji Idi Gubana said the state government had directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to provide shelter and food items to the displaced community who lost their belongings in the attack.

He also announced a donation of N30 million to the families of the slain and those receiving treatment in the hospital.

The governor noted that he had visited Chief of Defence Staff to discuss the security situation in Mafa Village, located at the border between Borno and Yobe states, to prevent future occurrences.

He emphasized the need for adequate security in the area to avoid similar incidents
