Yobe Govt Highlights 2024 Achievements, Vows to Do More in 2025

The Yobe State Government has highlighted its numerous achievements across various sectors in 2024, pledging to do more in the coming year.
This was disclosed by Gov Mai Mala Buni while addressing members of the press at the 2024 End-of-Year Press Briefing in Damaturu on Dec 19.
Buni, represented by his Deputy Alhaji Idi Gubana, commended the media for their dedication and commitment to informing the public about the government’s activities. He assured them of continued support in the discharge of their duties.
He said the year 2024 witnessed significant strides in various sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and social protection.
“Through prudent management of resources, we were able to make significant investments in these sectors, improving the lives of our people,” he stated.
In the healthcare sector, the state government achieved 100% payment of hazard allowances to healthcare workers and recorded significant progress in infrastructure development, including the ongoing renovation of the State Specialist Hospital in Damaturu.
The government also made significant strides in agriculture, with the launch of the largest agricultural empowerment support program in the state’s history, providing farm inputs to over 5,000 farmers.
In the area of infrastructure, the government embarked on the construction and rehabilitation of numerous roads across the state, including the Gashu’a-Masaba road, Balanguwa-Kumaganam road, and Fika-Maluri road.
The government also focused on improving access to water supply, with the conversion of 170 motorized boreholes to solar systems to ensure steady water supply to communities.
In the area of social protection, the government implemented the Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) program, reaching over 200,000 individuals with cash and food assistance.
Gubana emphasized the government’s commitment to improving security in the state, commending the efforts of security agencies in maintaining peace and order.
He concluded by assuring the people of Yobe State that the government would continue to work tirelessly to improve their living conditions in 2025 and beyond.
