The North East Youth Initiative For Development (NEYIF) has pledged its unwavering support for sustainable solutions to the complex challenges facing the Lake Chad Basin region.

This commitment was underscored by the participation of its Executive Director, Comrade Dauda Gombe Muhammad, and Head of Governance, Mallam Usman Bin-Affan, in the recently concluded Lake Chad Basin Governors Forum held in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The forum, hosted by the Yobe State Government, brought together key stakeholders to address pressing issues concerning humanitarian needs, development, peace, and security in the region.

NEYIF, recognizing the critical role of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), actively engaged in discussions focused on finding lasting solutions.

“Our role as CSOs is crucial in fostering constructive dialogue and advocating for sustainable solutions, ensuring that the most vulnerable populations are included in both discussions and decision-making processes,” stated Muhammad.

He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve meaningful progress in the region.

NEYIF reiterated its dedication to working alongside partners to amplify the voices of communities affected by the crisis and to effectively address their diverse needs.

The organization committed to leveraging its expertise, resources, and passion to drive positive and lasting change in the Lake Chad Basin.

The Governors Forum provided a vital platform for NEYIF to reaffirm its commitment and contribute to the ongoing efforts aimed at building a more stable and prosperous future for the region.
