Bauchi community leaders, Police unite to address rising cases of immorality

Ningii community leaders and police in the Ningi Local Government area of Bauchi State have pledged to join forces to tackle the growing concern of immorality in the area.
This collaborative effort aims to address rising cases of social vices, such as substance abuse, theft, and robbery, among young people
They made the pledge at a dialogue Session with community stakeholders on mutual understanding on Monday in Ningi LGA.
Organized by Voluntary Aid Initiative with technical support from International Alert and funded by the UK International Development,
The stakeholders, including police officers, community leaders, and women’s groups, urged parents to effectively monitor their children’s activities, especially at night.
They lamented the increasing cases of social vices, such as substance abuse, theft, and robbery, among young people in the community.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ningi Police Station, CSP Abba Ali, acknowledged that bail is free and pledged to work with community members to create a harmonious relationship and provide a peaceful and violence-free community.
Mrs. Zulai Mahmuda, a women’s rights activist, urged parents to monitor their children’s activities, especially at night, to prevent them from engaging in immoral acts.
Islamic Cleric, Hussaini Shehu, commended the police efforts to maintain law and order in the Ningi community and urged parents to instill moral values in their children.
Other stakeholders, including Mr. Adamu Aliyu, raised concerns about the rising cases of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and pledged to work with security agencies to stem the tide.
