Bridging the Gap: NEYIF, IRC Partner to Power North East Communities with Vital Information
By Ahmed I Abba
The North East Youth Initiative for Development (NEYIF) has forged a crucial partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to enhance information access for communities in the region.
The IRC staff recently visited NEYIF’s headquarters in Damaturu for a service mapping exercise under the “Gidan Bayani” project, as announced via NEYIF’s WhatsApp channel on Wednesday.
The visit marks a significant step towards ensuring residents have readily available and accurate information about essential services.
This collaborative effort aims to address the persistent information gap that often hinders community development and well-being.
“This timely collaboration and partnership will continue to keep our project participants up to speed about what, when, where, how, and why things happen in their communities,” stated a NEYIF representative.
The “Gidan Bayani” project is designed to act as a central hub, connecting individuals with the information they need most, empowering them to make informed decisions and navigate available resources.
The project will ensure that communities have access to up-to-date and reliable information. This will be vital in addressing the unique challenges faced by residents in the North East, particularly those affected by conflict and displacement.
The partnership underscores the commitment of both NEYIF and the IRC to fostering community resilience and empowerment through enhanced information access.
By providing accurate and timely information, the “Gidan Bayani” project aims to build a more informed and engaged citizenry, ultimately contributing to the sustainable development of the region.
