By Ahmed Ahmed
An Elder statesman and prominent stakeholder, Amb Adamu Aliyu, has called for a paradigm shift in Bauchi State’s leadership, stressing the urgent need for credible, visionary leaders who can lift the state from its current developmental stagnation.
Aliyu stated this in an interview with Journalists on Monday in Bauchi,
He expressed deep concern that despite being created in 1976, Bauchi State has been overtaken by sister states in terms of progress and infrastructure.
He described the situation as a “great misfortune,” given Bauchi’s vast mineral resources and human potential.
“The state needs policies and leadership that will uplift the living standards of its people.
“Unfortunately, Bauchi has been left behind while other states advance. To change this narrative,
“We must pick leaders with the right orientation, training, and discipline leaders who genuinely care about the welfare of our people,” Aliyu said.
He noted that leadership is not merely about holding political office but about service to humanity and a commitment to improving lives.
Amb. Aliyu urged elders and stakeholders to rally behind individuals with proven competence and integrity.
Highlighting Dr. Wunti’s track record and administrative experience, Aliyu endorsed him as the right leader to steer Bauchi toward sustainable growth, describing his candidature as a beacon of hope.
“We must remain steadfast in this movement to salvage our state by putting forward credible and capable people to lead,” Aliyu declared.
Alhaji Yahaya Miya, State Coordinator of Bala Wunti 2027 Movement said stakeholders unanimously resolved to invite Dr. Wunti to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) and contest the 2027 governorship election.
He described him as a leader with integrity and a proven track record.
Similarly, Alhaji Salisu Barau of Bauchi South praised Dr. Wunti as a detribalized leader committed to uniting and developing the state.
Malam Adamu Fanta of Bauchi Central expressed confidence that Wunti would tackle critical sectors like education, health, and agriculture.
The stakeholders pledged to remain committed to their movement to secure a credible and progressive future for Bauchi State.
