Zenith Bank awards N15m to winners of 2025 Teen Eagle Global competition
Zenith Bank Plc has awarded N15 million to three Nigerian students who emerged champions at the 2025 Teen Eagle Global competition.
The awardees were: Miss Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, Overall Best in English Language Skills; Miss Hadiza Kashm Kalli, Gold Medalist and recipient of the Outstanding Talent Award; and Miss Rukayyah Muhammad Fema, Overall Best in Debate.
Each winner received N5 million from the bank’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dame Umeoji on Thursday in Potiskum
Umeoji, represented by Mr Abubakar Goronyo, General Manager North, said the gesture was to celebrate the students’ outstanding performance on the global stage.
He added that the feat brought pride not only to their school or the country but to the entire black race.
“It is a great honour to celebrate these young champions who competed in the United Kingdom and made us proud.
“Their success is not just for Nigeria but a global victory for education,” he said.
He commended the Yobe State Government for its consistent support to educational development.
He urged other states to emulate its approach to strengthening learning institutions.
Mr Shahbaz Malik, Principal of Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC), Yobe branch, described the award as a reward for dedication and quality preparation, which he said had always guided the institution’s teaching methodology.
He said NTIC believed in nurturing students with love and discipline, adding that the college remained committed to producing globally competitive youths.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Aminu thanked Zenith Bank for the recognition, describing it as a motivation to young people across Nigeria.
“This honour goes beyond us as winners. It is an encouragement to the entire youth of Arewa and the nation.
“We appeal to other Northern governors to emulate the Yobe State educational blueprint in order to improve learning outcomes,” she said.
Aminu added that investment in education should go beyond infrastructure to policies that transform lives and prepare students for global competitiveness.
The 2025 Teen Eagle Global competition is an international platform designed to showcase young talents in debate, writing, science, and innovation.
