
Bauchi Gov confirms reappointment of Prof. Mohammed as provost of ASCOE Azare

Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has formally confirmed the reappointment of Professor Sadiya Asabe Mohammed as Provost of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare (ASCOE) for a second term.
The reappointment was announced during a closed-door meeting held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Government House, Bauchi.
The meeting was attended by State Assembly members, Council members of the College, management staff, union leaders, and student representatives.
According to a statement signed by Suleiman Shehu, Assistant Deputy Registrar (Information and Linkages) of the College, the meeting also addressed the challenges confronting the institution and explored solutions to enhance its development.
Gov. Mohammed commended the College’s leadership and pledged his administration’s support in addressing pressing issues affecting the institution to ensure educational advancement in the state.
In her acceptance remarks, Prof. Mohammed expressed gratitude to Allah (SWA) for the opportunity to serve another term. She thanked Governor Mohammed for the confidence reposed in her and acknowledged the contributions of the Commissioner for Higher Education and Regional Integration, Dr. Lydia Tsammani;
the Speaker and Members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly; commissioners; political advisers; royal fathers; and council members for their roles in her reappointment.
She described her second term as a testament to the collective hard work of the college community. “Together, we have achieved significant milestones during my first tenure, and I look forward to building on that success,” she said.
The Provost assured stakeholders of her commitment to consolidating the institution’s achievements, focusing on real-time development, and leading the college towards greater growth and stability.
