Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi passes away at 101, burial holds Friday in Bauchi

A renowned Islamic cleric and scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, has died at the age of 101.
He passed away in the early hours of Thursday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi.

He said the revered scholar was receiving visitors on Wednesday night before he was later taken to the hospital, where he died.
According to him, the burial has been scheduled for Friday, 28 November, immediately after the Jumaat prayers, in line with Islamic rites.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential Islamic scholars, celebrated for his vast knowledge, spiritual guidance and lifelong commitment to Islamic propagation.
Born in Bauchi State, he devoted decades to advancing Islamic education, promoting peaceful coexistence and fostering unity among Muslims across the country.
His teachings, often centred on moral discipline, tolerance and adherence to Islamic principles, earned him a massive following and deep respect within and beyond Nigeria.
Over the years, he played a significant role in community development, mentorship of young scholars and the strengthening of religious understanding.
His death marks the end of an era for millions who drew inspiration from his scholarship and leadership.
