By Ibrahim Kado
Dr Saleh Funtua, Chairman, Northern Surveyors Forum says the Forum has concluded plans to support orphans and vulnerable persons as part of its corporate social responsibilities in Adamawa.
Funtua disclosed this at a news conference on Wednesday in Yola.
He said the support would be part of the activities of the Forum during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Adamawa scheduled for December 4 to 7 in Yola, with the theme “Bringing On The New: Geospatial Applications In Governance”.
The Chairman said that the forum decided to host the AGM in Adamawa because of the good performance of Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri in infrastructural development and other areas.
According to him, the participants are drawn from different parts of the country and abroad.
He added that as at the time of the briefing, about 500 participants were registered in Adamawa for the AGM.
“In the history of northern surveyors forum, there has never been an event that attracted such enthusiasm among people rushing to come with a simple reason to witness what a governor is doing for the profession, ” he said.
He added that during the occasion, the forum intended to honour the governor as a fellow for what he has been doing.
