By Ahmed Isah
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have raided a suspected gunrunner’s hideout in Barkin Ladi, recovering an AK-47 rifle, a magazine and communication equipment.
The raid was conducted on Dec. 3 by Sector 2 (Sub-Sector 3) personnel deployed in Gashish after receiving intelligence on alleged illicit activities in Ranbiri Village, Kafi Abu.
Although the suspect escaped before the troops arrived, a thorough search of the location led to the seizure of the arms and equipment.
The items are in safe custody, and efforts are underway to arrest the fleeing suspect, officials said.
The Joint Task Force stated that its personnel remain committed to safeguarding civilians and dismantling the supply networks of criminal groups operating in the area.
