The Bauchi State Government has taken a significant step toward strengthening effective monitoring of capital projects with the official handover of three brand-new Tacoma vehicles to the Project Management Consulting Committee under the Ministry of Works and Transport.

This is contained in a statement signed by Aisha Bamai, Information and Public Relations Officer of the State Ministry of Works & Transport made available to journalists on Wednesday in Bauchi .

It said during the handover ceremony, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Muhammad Hamisu Garba, said the vehicles were provided to boost the committee’s efficiency in carrying out regular project inspections across the state.

He emphasized that effective monitoring remains a key priority of the government to ensure that contractors deliver quality work that meets approved standards.

Engr. Hamisu stressed that the 40-member committee plays a crucial role in ensuring projects are executed within approved cost, completed on schedule, and comply with established specifications.

To further support this mandate, he revealed that the Ministry has provided office accommodation and other operational logistics to aid the committee’s smooth functioning.

Receiving the vehicle keys, representatives of the committee commended the government for equipping them with the tools necessary to strengthen oversight.

They pledged to put the vehicles to good use and reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying on-site supervision to guarantee value for public funds.

The Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Barr. Dawud, also witnessed the event and took a brief ride in one of the newly procured vehicles to assess its condition.

The gesture, officials said, reinforces the government’s determination to entrench effective monitoring mechanisms that will drive timely and quality completion of infrastructure projects across Bauchi State.
