BASIEC fixed Dec. 23 by-election for tumfafi ward

The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) has officially announced that a by-election will be conducted in Tumfafi Ward of Shira Local Government Area on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
This is contained in a notification signed by the Commission’s Information Officer, Ishiyaku Adamu, made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi
It said the announcement is in line with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and the Bauchi State Electoral Law 2008 (as amended).
The notice affirms the Commission’s authority to organize and supervise the election.
BASIEC stated that nomination forms for interested candidates are available at the Shira Local Government Electoral Office.
The Commission urged all eligible political parties, aspirants, and residents of Tumfafi Ward to take note of the election date and comply with all guidelines.
The notice, issued on December 9, 2025, also serves as formal communication to the people of Tumfafi Ward, signaling the commencement of electoral processes ahead of the poll.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a transparent and credible by-election in the affected area.
