President Bola Tinubu has said the directive withdrawing police officers from VIPs and VVIPs will be enforced fully to strengthen national security operations.

He issued the warning during the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, emphasising that police personnel must be deployed to protect citizens rather than a small group of privileged office holders.

Tinubu instructed the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Police Affairs and the Inspector General of Police to ensure immediate enforcement of the directive.

The President said the Nigeria Police Force must be repositioned to confront kidnapping, terrorism, banditry and growing threats affecting vulnerable communities.

He explained that the Civil Defence Corps would assume VIP protection responsibilities, noting that the corps was armed and trained for such duties.

Tinubu said the security architecture would be reviewed to ensure that policing resources directly address areas most affected by violence and insecurity.

Abuja, Dec. 10, 2025 (NAN) President Bola Tinubu has directed the Minister of Livestock to begin immediate mobilisation for ranching reforms to reduce conflicts between herders and farmers across the country.

He issued the directive at the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, saying the reforms were essential to restoring stability in communities affected by recurring clashes.

Tinubu tasked the Vice President, Chairman of the National Economic Council, with sensitising governors and stakeholders on the constitutional requirements guiding land administration.

He said the rehabilitation of grazing areas and designated villages would support organised ranching systems and promote economic opportunities within the livestock sector.

The President said implementing ranching reforms would help eliminate violent disputes in vulnerable areas and strengthen community security.

He added that the withdrawal of police from VIP protection would allow more personnel to be mobilised to rural conflict zones, complementing the livestock reform agenda.
