Yobe ACReSAL Ranks among Top Performers at World Bank Mid-Term Review

Yobe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes project has emerged among top-performing states in results delivery and financial management at an ongoing World Bank review in Jos.
The commendation was announced by the World Bank Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes Task Team Leader, Dr Joy Iganya Agene, during the Hybrid Pre–Mid Term Review mission.
Agene praised Yobe State for strong performance, effective delivery of milestones, and impeccable financial documentation throughout project implementation.
She said results presented showed Yobe State ranked seventh among 19 participating states, following a rigorous assessment of performance indicators by an independent panel of academic experts.
Agene further disclosed that Yobe State recorded zero issues in financial reporting and documentation, describing the feat as rare and reflective of strong transparency and accountability standards.
She subsequently invited the Yobe State team to stand and receive applause from participants in recognition of the achievement.
Led by the State Project Coordinator, Shehu Alhaji Mohammed, the Yobe delegation made a detailed presentation evidencing milestones across all project components.
The presentation highlighted progress in climate resilience interventions, watershed management, community livelihood support, and institutional strengthening.
It also showcased measurable impacts already being recorded in beneficiary communities across the state.
The ongoing review mission is attended by World Bank Task Team Leaders, the National Project Coordinator, officials of the Federal Project Management Unit, and technical staff.
Also present are State Project Coordinators from the 19 implementing states and the Federal Capital Territory, alongside engineers, monitoring officers, accountants, procurement officers, and other project specialists.
