Ramadan: Timeshare opens zonal feeding centres to assist Muslims in Yobe
By Ahmed Isah
Kashim Musa Tumsah has opened feeding centres across Yobe’s three senatorial zones to support Muslims observing the Ramadan fast.
The centres were strategically located in major towns to enable fasting residents access meals daily at sunset.
In Yobe East Senatorial Zone, the feeding points are situated in Damaturu, Gujba, Gaidam and Dapchi.
Yobe South Senatorial Zone has centres in Potiskum, Fika and Nangere.
In Yobe North Senatorial Zone, the feeding points are located in Gashua and Nguru.
In addition to the zonal centres, Tumsah introduced a mobile feeding scheme to distribute takeaway meals and water to vulnerable persons in selected local government areas and adjoining communities.
The intervention is aimed at ensuring that the needy break their fast in comfort and dignity during the holy month.
The development advocate had earlier distributed thousands of bags of rice and beans, sugar, cartons of spaghetti and other condiments to individuals, groups and associations ahead of Ramadan.
Tumsah, popularly known as KMT, has supported communities in the state for over two decades.
His interventions cut across healthcare, education, agriculture, skills acquisition, solar-powered boreholes, street lighting and rural feeder roads to stimulate socio-economic development.
