Yobe APC camping council gets N2.2B By Uche F. Uche, Damaturu
The Yobe State All Progressive Council (APC) Campaign Council have realised the total sum of N2.2 billion during a fund raising.
The Director general, APC Campaign Council, Senator Mohammed Hassan made this known on Wednesday in Damaturu.
The party organised the occasion to source funds to sponsor the 2023 campaign activities and reelection of Governors Mai Mala Buni.
Alhaji Muhammad Auwul Lawan, the Chief launcher and his associates gave the highest donation of N500 million
Lawan was represented by the former governor of the state, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, who is also the chairman of the campaign council.
Alhaji Tijjani Musa Tumsa, the Chairman of the committee said the donations was meant to ensure the victory of the party in the state.
“ And to give governor Buni a second term chance to continue with the good works he has done to provide more dividends of democracy to the people in the state.
The Director general campaign council called on the intended contributors to do so even after the official time of the ceremony.
Speaking at occasion, The Senate Pesident Ahmed Lawan called for serious mobilisation and sensitisation of the electorates in view of the introduction of new technology in the election process.
He stressed the need for voters to be by the newly introduced technology to avoid mistakes that would result in invalidation of votes cast
He also assured that APC would not allow People’s Democraric Party (PDP) to have more than 20 percent votes in Yobe during all the elections.
