First Lady Donates 1,000 Bags of Rice to Christian Community in Yobe
By Kinsley Benson
The wife of the President, Mrs. Remi Tinubu, has donated 1,000 bags of 25kg rice to the Christian community in Yobe State to celebrate Christmas.
Mr. Yahaya Galo, a committee member of the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum (CNPF), disclosed this on Tuesday in Potiskum.
He said the gesture was part of the first lady’s efforts to support the less privileged.
Galo appreciated the first lady for the kind gesture and called on other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate her.
Also speaking, Mr. Saidu Ajeje, the Coordinator of the forum in Yobe State, prayed for God to guide President Tinubu and his wife throughout their tenure.
Ajeje noted that if people in positions of authority were willing to assist others, many Nigerians would not be suffering.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Usuku Kuku, who represented retired pastors in the state, thanked the first lady for putting smiles on the faces of Christians in Yobe.
Kuku stated that this was the first time such support had been given to them by any first lady.
The donation is part of the first lady’s broader initiative to support vulnerable communities across the country, particularly in the northern region.
