Buni Emerges Secretary of APC 2026 National Convention Committee

Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has emerged Secretary of the 2026 National Convention Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, inaugurated the 98-member committee in Abuja on Tuesday.

The committee is chaired by Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari and mandated to organise the party’s 2026 national convention for the election of National Working Committee members.

Yilwatda expressed confidence in the capacity of the committee to deliver what he described as the best convention in the party’s history.

“I am sure this committee will organise a very free, fair, transparent and widely accepted convention,” he said.

In his remarks, Masari described Buni as an authority in party administration and conflict resolution.

He said Buni’s experience and institutional knowledge would strengthen the committee’s work and ensure a seamless convention process.

The committee is expected to commence preparations immediately.
