The African Democratic Congress in Bauchi State has initiated moves to reconcile aggrieved members following a recent court ruling affirming its state leadership.
The Deputy Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Arsanu Guyaba disclosed this during a press conference, shortly after a High Court judgment delivered on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
He said the court had affirmed the leadership of the party under Alhaji Hassan Karuna as the authentic and lawful executive in the state, bringing clarity to the internal dispute.
Guyaba however, emphasised that beyond the legal victory, the priority of the leadership was to unite all factions within the party.
“Our major concern now is reconciliation. We are calling on all aggrieved members to sheath their swords and join hands with us to move the party forward,” he said.
He revealed that a reconciliation committee had already been constituted to engage stakeholders and address grievances, with a view to restoring harmony within the party.
According to him, the leadership remains committed to inclusive dialogue and peaceful resolution of differences, stressing that unity was critical to the party’s future success.
“We believe that with unity and understanding, we can rebuild trust and strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements,” he added.
Guyaba further noted that the relationship between the state leadership and the national leadership of the party remained cordial, assuring members that efforts were ongoing to ensure stability at all levels.
He expressed optimism that the reconciliation process would yield positive results, positioning the party as a strong and united platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Our goal is not division but progress. We want everyone on board so that together we can achieve victory in 2027,” he said.
