YSIEC announces sale of nomination forms for June 6 LG polls

The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission has announced the commencement of sale of nomination forms for the June 6, 2026 local government elections.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Kadai Jumbam, Permanent Member V, for the Executive Chairman of the commission on Saturday in Damaturu.
The commission said the forms are for the positions of chairman, vice chairman and councillors across the state.
The statement said the sale would take place from March 22 to March 31, 2026.
It said the exercise would be conducted at its office located within the State Ministry of Works premises along Gashua Road, Damaturu.
According to the commission, nomination forms for chairmanship positions cost N300,000, while vice chairmanship forms cost N250,000.
It added that councillorship forms are priced at N200,000.
YSIEC urged all political parties intending to field candidates to obtain and submit their forms within the stipulated period.
