NYSC swears in 1,200 corps members in Yobe
No fewer than 1,200 corps members were sworn in for the 2023 Batch ‘B’ stream ll Orientation course.
Mrs Hafsat Yerima, State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) disclosed this at Dazigau orientation camp on Friday.
She congratulated the corps members for the successful completion of your studies from the various institutions of higher learning.
She said orientation course would exposed them to programmes and activities that will give them a better understanding of the objectives of the scheme.
Yarima added that the programme would also make acquaintance with the environment, language and the culture of their host community.
“In this regard, I urge you to participate in all the camp activities which are mandatory as you will derive immense benefits from the activities.
“Equally, you must obey all camp rules and respect camp officials, because acts of insubordination will not be condoned.
In his remarks Gov Mai Mala Buni had welcomed the corps members to the State.
Buni, represented by Alhaji Abdullahi Bego the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Wealth Creation Empowerment and Employment Generation urged them to make their contribution to the development and advancement of a greater and better Nigeria.
“Let me therefore ask of you to take this orientation programme seriously.
“It is an opportunity for you to get the exposure necessary to better adjust your lives and build up our self-confidence.
“So, my dear corps members endeavour to participate fully in all camp activities,” he advised.
Buni said he had directed all security agencies and community leaders to ensure that a conducive environment is created for all corps members to thrive.
“Government will also work to improve on the facilities and infrastructure here at the NYSC Camp and will ensure occasional reconstructions and upgrades,” Buni added.
